How Do We Share the Truth without Being Argumentative?

We do not need to be hostile in order to make sound arguments for the truth. Today, hear the encouragement R.C. Sproul gave for us to clearly present the truth of Scripture without being mean-spirited.
NATHAN W. BINGHAM: This week we're going back into the archives from one of our live Q&A events with Dr. Sproul. He answered the question, "How do we share the truth without being argumentative?"
DR. R.C. SPROUL: Well, it's pretty hard not to be argumentative and hard not to be offensive. Because when you disagree with anybody, the tendency is for people to be offended. And when you talk about being argumentative, "argumentative" is a negative description of things. But the giving of solid biblical arguments is what we are called to do. Now to make a sound argument to support the truth claims of a position is not necessarily to be argumentative. Argumentativism describes a hostile spirit, a mean spirit. So, one doesn't have to be argumentative to make sound arguments, but I would encourage people to make clear and biblical arguments for the truth.
