Are You a Member of a Local Church?

We shouldn’t expect significant growth in Christian maturity if we’re only growing alone. Today, R.C. Sproul stresses the importance of being actively involved in a local Christian church.
If you want to be brought into a higher state of sanctification, you need to spend time with Christians who are more mature than you are and benefit from the fellowship of the company of the saints, because fellowship is a means of grace. If you want to grow into maturity as a Christian, you’ve got to become involved in your church. Church membership is not an option to the Christian. Christ establishes His church and commands His people to be a part of His body and to participate in that body. Because the church and church membership and church attendance and church involvement is a means of grace. It is a means by which your new life is nurtured and nourished and fed so that you can grow.
