The Ground of Our Assurance

If Christians look merely to themselves to gain assurance of their salvation, they will be drawn to the edge of despair. Today, R.C. Sproul addresses the true, solid ground of our assurance.

I know that there are people who have put their trust in Christ, but yet are still beleaguered by attacks of anxiety. We worry about our future state and will we be redeemed at the end? If we look at ourselves and our own strength, obviously we will be at the edge of despair. But when we consider the power and the promises of God, then we can rejoice, not only in the measure of redemption that we've experienced up until this moment, but we can look with confidence to the future inheritance that God has laid up for us in heaven.
