john 21:1–14

Dr. Sproul starts this section relating that many critical scholars believe that John chapter 21 does not belong in the canon of Scripture and gives his response. He then proceeds to review the text and the disciples‘ unsuccessful fishing trip. These expert fishermen had fished all night and had nothing to show for the effort but Jesus tells them to cast the net on the other side of the boat and they have a huge catch. Once again when Peter finds out it is the Lord on the shore he dove in and started swimming to Jesus. The other disciples bring the boat in and Jesus has the fire ready. Dr. Sproul relates some of the interesting facts about Peter and the fish.

This sermon is from the Lord’s Day pulpit ministry of R.C. Sproul at Saint Andrew’s Chapel near Orlando, Florida.
