john 21:15–25

After the breakfast, Jesus confronts Peter and asks him if he loves Jesus more than these. Dr. Sproul considers three possible meanings and discusses the various Greek words translated “love.” Further investigation is done when Jesus responds to Peter’s positive statement of love by asking Peter to feed His lambs and then asking twice to feed His sheep. As John’s gospel comes to an end, Jesus gives Peter a glimpse into the future and also a statement about John.

This sermon is from the Lord’s Day pulpit ministry of R.C. Sproul at Saint Andrew’s Chapel near Orlando, Florida.
