acts 19:1–20

Many people in the city of Ephesus were preoccupied with magic and the powers of the occult. When the Apostle Paul performed astonishing miracles in the city, there were even some who sought to replicate the power of the Holy Spirit for their own benefit. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul warns us that attempting to manipulate the power of God will be met with disastrous consequences. Jesus is not a force to be controlled but a Savior whom we must receive and to whom we must submit.

This sermon is from the Lord’s Day pulpit ministry of R.C. Sproul at Saint Andrew’s Chapel near Orlando, Florida.
