The Source of Forgiveness

When we sin against God, there is only one place that we can go with our guilt. Today, R.C. Sproul invites us to bring our unresolved sin to the Lord, the ultimate source of forgiveness.
The only real cure for real guilt is real forgiveness, and ultimately, the only source of real forgiveness is God. I can talk to you about it—I can be a spokesman, a minister. A priest can pronounce the words te absolvo, but the ultimate source of real forgiveness is God, and God is quick to forgive.
In fact, one of the absolute promises that God makes to us is that if we confess our sins to Him, He will most surely forgive those sins. And so, if you this day are walking around paralyzed, wounded, hurt, bitter, angry because of unresolved sin, don’t take another step in that condition. Go to God. Tell Him the truth. Ask Him to forgive you because that’s what the cross is all about.
