The Good Work Shall Be Completed

Though sin is most commonly spoken of in connection to death and eternal punishment, the effects of sin pervade all of human life. Even those who have been born again and desire to please God continue to wrestle with the sinful inclinations entrenched within their own hearts. Therefore, the good news that Jesus Christ offers is not just forgiveness of sins, but also the hope of being liberated from one’s own sinful nature. Although this growth in grace can sometimes be difficult to detect, God’s Word reminds Christians that the Lord, who began His gracious working in their lives when they were still dead in sins, will not fail to complete the task of making them pure and spotless.
