The Death of Herod

By biblical standards as well as pagan religions, a God, by definition, is an eternal, immortal being. Therefore, he cannot die. Jesus, the God-man died, yet it was His human nature that experienced the power of death for a time only to be raised on the third day and exalted to the right hand of God the Father. That was not the case for Herod. In the midst of a public assembly, the Angel of the Lord struck him dead. What did Herod do in order to rouse the Lord’s quick judgment? Or better yet, what didn’t he do? In this message, Dr. Sproul reminds us how God will not share His glory with another.
