The Reformed faith has a well-defined core of non-negotiable doctrines. But it has never possessed one complete and common theological expression. This fact helps us to appreciate the determined catholicity of John Calvin, which Pastor Hamilton examines in this lesson. Christians today are called to pursue this godly catholicity, a distinctive feature of Calvinism, without the compromise of gospel truth.

Dr. Ian Hamilton is president of The Paton Society, which seeks to present Reformed churches with the challenge of reaching the 3200 unreached language groups with the gospel. He also teaches historical theology at Westminster Seminary UK and serves on the board at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He is author of many books, including Words from the Cross, Our Heavenly Shepherd, and a commentary on Ephesians in The Lectio Continua Expository Commentary on the New Testament.
