Does God hate big cities? Does he hate human progress and unity so much that he topples towers and scatters people who are only trying to live peaceably with one another? Human beings love to build cities. Even after they are built there are continual facelifts and improvements. We are looking for that self-sufficient city that meets all of our needs. Indeed we want Utopia. History is witness to the great empires that have been built with this dream. Most recently we have seen the Soviet Union crumble as monuments of Stalin and Lenin watched helplessly. But does the dream remain?
