The Christian life is often compared to a pilgrimage. Perhaps you have read the classic work from John Bunyan titled, “Pilgrim’s Progress.” In this story, the main character named Christian is on a journey from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City—the City of Zion. During that journey he encounters worldly distractions and temptations personified. Choices must be made. Every Christian feels the tension of two kingdoms.
