There are Christians whose lives are marked by steadfast spiritual growth and maturity. Then there are those whose lives exhibit no growth to speak of. To them, Christian disciplines such as fellowship and worship with the other believers; prayer and Scripture reading; are all merely optional. Their lives show little or no signs of growth from the time they made a profession of Christ. Some have excused this behavior by claiming they are Carnal Christians, asserting that this is a Biblical designation. Does the Bible teach this idea? Here in this lecture Dr. Sproul will show that our security lies in a true profession of faith, unlike that of the so-called “Carnal Christian.”
