Christians today are often inclined to use substitute phrases for the word fear. The word is rarely used when describing an overflow of delight, joy, and love. Because this understanding of fear is foreign to our culture, Christians have felt pressured to use other words. In this lesson, Dr. Reeves highlights how these substitute words ultimately fail to encompass the depth and beauty of responding to God’s perfection and holiness with a trembling, overwhelmed, and fearful love.
