The Beloved Disciple
Five times in his gospel, John describes himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved. This phrase could easily be interpreted as proceeding from some deep pride or arrogance in John. In this lesson, however, Dr. Thomas uncovers John’s true sentiment behind all five instances of the appellation.
