Equipped for Ministry

The Lord used the New Testament church to spread the good news of Jesus Christ far and wide. Today, R.C. Sproul articulates what is needed for God’s people to be effective in gospel ministry.
The reason why the New Testament church became so powerful an influence in the ancient world that it actually turned the world upside down was because the people of God were equipped and mobilized like a spiritual army. And when I read the New Testament, I see that it wasn’t the Apostles who were the missionaries who went out and turned the world upside down, but the Apostles’ trained the people.
And in every age, as I read church history, where there has been an awakening, where there has been a reformation, that reformation has come to pass because the people of God were awakened, were mobilized, and were trained for the ministry of Christ.
