The Bible teaches that God is one. How do we reconcile this with Scripture’s teaching that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are God? As the early church grappled with these questions, some teachers went astray, either by elevating the Father over the Son and the Spirit or by teaching that these three persons were merely different names for the Father. In this message, Dr. R.C. Sproul explains how the church responded to these errors from the second through the fourth century and sought to clearly formulate the doctrine of the Trinity revealed in Scripture.
