Christians face trials and suffering on this side of glory. In this seminar, Drs. Sinclair Ferguson and W. Robert Godfrey discuss the Bible’s teaching on suffering and encourage us to remain faithful when we face difficulties of various kinds.
Questions:
- How should we think about suffering? Particularly, how should Christian thinking about suffering in light of God’s sovereignty and goodness? (1:06)
- Looking in depth on the temptation to doubt God’s sovereignty and goodness amid suffering (13:45)
- How can believers distinguish between God’s discipline, spiritual warfare, and the ordinary trials that beset us in a fallen world? (25:17)
- Can the hope of resurrection and future glory help to inform our present sufferings? (33:28)
Note: Answers given reflect the views of the individual speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views of Dr. R.C. Sproul and Ligonier Ministries. Here is our Statement of Faith.
