Themes from Genesis
When our first parents ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, God’s curse was brought to bear on the whole of the human race: “for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen. 2:17). As a result, suffering, pain, and death permeate every aspect of human existence. Is God’s punishment too severe? In this lesson, Dr. Sproul examines the nature of God’s punishment. Cast against this backdrop, we will consider God’s gracious promise of redemption and look toward its realization in the new and better Adam: Jesus Christ.
