The Exile

After the northern kingdom of Israel fell to the Assyrians in 722 BC, the southern tribes tottered toward spiritual collapse. Prophet after prophet came with warnings of the destruction to come, but the people of Judah refused to repent of their idolatry. As the Lord withdrew His hand of protection from His people, mighty empires invaded the land until Jerusalem was conquered in 586 BC. In this message, Dr. R.C. Sproul discusses the events that led up to Judah’s exile in Babylon, the greatest crisis for the people of God during the Old Testament period.
