The Monarchy

During a time of national crisis, Samuel emerged as the spiritual leader of Israel. But in their desire to become like the surrounding nations, the people demanded that he crown one of them as king. Ultimately, it wasn’t Samuel whom the Israelites rejected—it was the kingship of God Himself. Yet the Lord’s purposes were not defeated. In this message, Dr. R.C. Sproul teaches that in spite of its corrupt history, God used Israel’s monarchy to provide His chosen King, the Lord Jesus Christ.
