The Divided Kingdom

The golden age of ancient Israel was tragically short lived. After the reigns of David and Solomon, the pride of King Rehoboam caused a split between the tribes of Israel, and the divided kingdom never recovered. But even as these two kingdoms descended into idolatry, defeat, and exile, God remained faithful to His promise to preserve David’s royal descendants. In this message, Dr. R.C. Sproul explains that this preservation culminated in the coming of David’s greater Son, Jesus Christ.
