The New Birth
How can someone dead in sin enter into union with Christ? The answer given by Jesus in John 3 is that one must be born again. It doesn’t matter how morally upstanding a person appears or how morally destitute. One must be born again to see the kingdom of God. In this lesson, Dr. Ferguson introduces the doctrine of regeneration through Jesus’ encounter with Nicodemus, showing how the new birth is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit.
