Jael, Heroine of Israel

Life is often messy, and the Bible is full of stories that illustrate this reality. In the time of the judges, Israel was often oppressed by the Canaanites. The general Sisera was a cruel ruler who brought tyranny to Israel for many years. In Judges 4, we are introduced to two prominent women: Deborah and Jael. One of them is better known than the other, but both have significant roles in Israel's history. In this lesson, Dr. Thomas explores the story of Jael's killing Sisera and the implications it has for our thoughts about morality in a sinful, messy world.
