Romans provides us with instruction for living lives of love both inside and outside the Christian community. While the reason for Paul’s transition from talking about how Christians are to love one another to how they are to relate to civil authority may not seem apparent, they are both connected to Christians’ posture toward God as the ultimate authority. In this lesson, Dr. Godfrey traces Paul’s thought in Romans 12–13 and draws practical implications for our lives in the present moment before the return of Christ.
