After discussing the seriousness of sin and the universal scope of sin, Paul is ready to transition to sin’s remedy—not a righteousness through the law but a righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ. Using one verse from the Old Testament after the other, Paul shows us our need. Dr. W. Robert Godfrey is a Ligonier Ministries teaching fellow and chairman of Ligonier Ministries. He is president emeritus and professor emeritus of church history at Westminster Seminary California.
