What is the essence of the gospel? This is an essential question for us to answer. It was the gospel that got Peter and John arrested for a second time. If they were willing to disobey their governing authorities for the sake of the gospel, we ought to understand what the essence of the gospel truly is. In this lesson, Dr. Thomas considers the arrest and release of Peter and John along with their response to the religious leaders in Jerusalem. He takes on the age-old question whether we obey God or the government. Finally, he looks at the essence of the gospel, the message on which we stake our lives.
