As Paul relates his own spiritual autobiography in the third chapter of Philippians, he describes in great detail the earthly status and power that he had possessed before he met Jesus. From a human standpoint, Paul lost everything when he met Christ. Of far greater importance to Paul, however, is all that he has gained as a result of knowing Christ. As Paul makes clear, he would willingly give everything away again for the sake of knowing and gaining Jesus Christ.
