As Paul digs deeper into the theme of humility that dominates the second chapter of Philippians, he brings up a simple and practical way for Christians to put humility into action: by putting an end to grumbling and complaining. Although it is human nature to complain when things do not go the way we wish, Paul contends that complaining ought to have no place in the lives of those who love and serve our sovereign and gracious God. The more we put this habit to death in our lives, the more the glory of Christ will be displayed in our lives for all to see.
